Thanks To All!!! - Benefit Concert Update - Donations Totaling $12,677.00

I started Music For A Cure several years ago. My brother and I have been studying piano for thirteen years, and I prayed for a way to use our gift of music for the benefit of others. Inspired by my family's support for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as well as my desire to become a physician, I worked with my brother to create a benefit music CD for the organization. I had the incredible opportunity to visit St. Jude's, and I was further motivated to continue fundraising efforts as well as to raise awareness for the ongoing need for research for catastrophic pediatric illnesses. 

As part of my continued efforts, I hosted and performed Music For a Cure: a Benefit Concert for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which was held on April 19, 2008 at Samford University. I want to extend a special thanks to everyone who so generously donated to St. Jude's. Your amazing contributions that evening have totaled $12,677.00 for the children at St. Jude's.

I also want to thank my guest performers who shared their beautiful gift of music, Dr. Witold W. Turkiewicz, Dr. Anthony M. Turkiewicz, Jeffrey Tapley (pianists); Mrs. Marie Turkiewicz, Dr. Tommy Turkiewicz (vocalists); and Bonnie Furuto (violinist). I also want to thank O'Carrs!! O'Carrs graciously donated the delicious food at the reception. Bobby Carter, O'Carr's Catering Manager, provided a beautiful array of food for the tables. Thank you also to Publix for their generous donations for the reception. A special thanks to our St. Jude Family, the Hassinger Family, for sharing their experiences at St. Jude's with everyone. Their precious daughter has been a St. Jude patient for over two years.
